Thursday July 2

It was Scott's Daddy-son day. We started at the hospital with labs. His white count is still climbing and that's normal and why he is still in pain. He got the temporary line taken out of his neck as he has completed his collection of the 28 million stem cells.
He's been working from the computer the rest of today. We don't go to Huntsman's until Sat a.m. So, I hope we have a quiet 24 hours.

Dad smiles often when he sees the camera make an appearance, but don't be fooled, this isn't the greeting we all receive these days.
Dads hair has started to come out in big chunks all over the place. Mom & Scott think it's time for a shave. Dad is refusing. Even when Scott offers to keep the law of the buddy system and do it together. Which 1. Imagine Scott bald, hmmmmm. And 2. Never trust one of the Gilchrist boys. I would hope if Dad fell for it that he would have the common sense to ask Scott to go first. I see it more as a sign of Dad trying to keep as much of his dignity and control over something, anything, as this body ravishing disease or rather the chemo that is trying to take it over is setting up shop in his body and making all the rules. He appeared thinner to me today and defiantly a bit moody as others have said this week too.
We still love you Dad! One more crapy day down and on with tomorrow....
