A weakened immune system in a world full of germs sucks!

Dad has had the fever now for weeks! He has been tested and retested and been given Tylenol to take care of it from fever to fever but we are still waiting to uncover the big picture reason of why this is all happening. This week he has had some good moments and others when he sleeps the entire day and can't stay awake. His stomach is weak and he has been dehydrated.... thank goodness for daily trips to Huntsman for the I.V. fluids. We have gone from thinking we are treating a fungus infection in his lungs (mushrooms anyone?) to finding out that nearly a week later the spots on his lungs are larger than before and he's seen a pulmanologist to see what his opinion is. We are all tired and frustrated for both Mom & Dad. As of today Dad is being treated with both the fungal meds as well as a new med for CMV. Please keep Bonnie & Steve in your thoughts and prayers. None of us anticipated this sidetrack that Dad's care has taken and we just want to start seeing them both enjoy life with the benefit of new stem cells!
